12 hours - Building Information Modeling (BIM) - Introductory Course [BIM-E12]
  • For students / practitioners equipped with knowledge of building services engineering
Introduction to the Course

The building technology and relevant softwares develop rapidly in Hong Kong and Mainland China in the past decade. The growth was not only relied on human power and hardware, but also stimulated by using the most updated software, which can assist in the entire construction cycle to maintain a high level of coordination and to finish the project on time.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process to generate and manage the building data.

BIM uses a three-dimensional (3-D), real-time and dynamic building modeling software. It enhances the productivity in architecture, building design and construction processes. The generated BIM includes the geometry of building elements, spatial relationships, geographic information, quantities and properties.
BIM provides more comprehensive information for professional project teams (Architects, surveyors, civil engineer, structural engineer and building services).

Course Features
  • Participants are being taught theoretically and practically.  The training is delivered in Chinese, supplemented with English
  • Individual high-tech computer.  Learn the difficulties from a simple prospective
  • Adopting integrated teaching method: teaching principles with software applications. Focus on the use of 3-D from different views and layers.   Participants will fully understand the three main spatial relationship (width “X”, height “Y”and depth “Z”)
BIM is a new standard for drawings in construction industry.  It is widely used in various government projects. Therefore, Asian Institute of Built Environment organizes Building Information Modeling (BIM) courses to teach the basic BIM concepts, BIM executions, BIM workflow and software applications.
